It just arrived in the mail, and I immediately got my magnifying glass out to see everyone closer. What a professional job. A big thanks to Arlene. I had a such great time visiting both Friday and Saturday. A whole two days, and still not enough time. Thanks to all who took so much of their own time for months in advance to get this thing organized. After studying the new photo of us, I got out the yearbooks. I saw so many others that I wonder where they are now. Some who came to the 2000 reunion weren't there, like Denise Chenault. I really enjoyed seeing "kids" from Westbury, Colonial Village, and Beaconridge (now Bolingbrook). It was really something to learn Rick Walton and my husband Doug worked together at GTE and didn't even realize there was a connection till now. What fun! I hope more of you start leaving messages just so we don't lose track of each other. |

I was good to see Carol and Tom Lambert. Dave and Jerry. It was such a hot humid day but all of you had smiles on your faces and warmth in your heart. It's so hard to believe that this has been the first time since we graduated that I have seen many of your. All of you looked great and it was heartwarming to know that those of you that married your hs sweethearts are still sharing wonderful productive lives. It was refreashing to hear Judy Griffin say, Lester is still her better half. May all of you who read these entries remember that we all shared four years together, and it looks like many of us have carried each other in our hearts since them. Thank you all who set these up to keep us all together. It's hard work and from the bottom of my heart, we are so grateful. Till next time. Fi |

Just you being there made it perfect. Wasn't this so much more fun than highschool. For those who could not join us.... you know that you were thought of and missed. Gail, you have once again refused to accept what you were told could not be done. You have been the driving force to keep bringing this class together and I know everyone thanks you for doing so. Also, Jean, Jim, Bill, Bev, Ed, Lynn,Dawn and all others who worked on the reunion these past couple of years, thank you for bringing us all together..... THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. You guys have out done yourselves. While some of us were partying way TOO late on Friday night, the reunion committee had to go home earlier than they perhaps really wanted to. They had decided to be at Hammel Woods several hours before the rest of us started arriving just in order to get things ready and make sure everything was as perfect as it turned out to be. Thank you doesn't say enough.. but hopefully you all know the gratitude is really from my heart and from everything I heard yesterday.....from everyone else's also. Thanks Bill for thinking of and maintaining this websit just for us..... the class of 1972. Can't wait to see all the pic's. We haven't gotten older guys ---- just better. It is great to be able to see so many old friends and familiar places. Life had been going by at breakneck speed for us. It's slowed down a little. Its A Wonderful Life is one of my personal favorite movies, and the title sums it up for me so far: it has been a wonderful life.... I'm still working at the same place I started after college graduation-nearly 25 years. It is now part of the Lucent Technologies family. Many years of interesting work and great people. In my early days there, we actually had a few Spartans working together. I've been married for almost 24 years. We have four children. Two are currently going to college and taking our money with them. I'm now watching our third child through high school with one more to go. It certainly is fun to be a part of high school activities again. I've been with my high school son at cross country meets where the Spartans have been competitors (at the Joliet Invitational). It has brought me many fond memories. |

I'm sure our company can write off a few barrels of beer. Please keep in touch and I'll do the same. Bill if you get a chance give me a call at 630/985-5679 or 985-5680 |

Gail, Jean, Bill and Lynn have a lot of good ideas, but I think they could use a little help along the way. Lend a hand or idea if you can, fellow '72-type people. I wish I was 1/10 as organized as Jean & Gail are!! With a little more help, this thing should go off without a hitch. Congrats Billy!! I will celebrate 24 years this November. I am jealous, however, that your kids are in college and I still have one in Sixth Grade! Yikes! |

Bill will be in charge of music. We have to refrain from loud music, and no amplifiers or generators are permitted. Lastly, we have to be out of the park by 8:00 p.m. So, people who want to continue to visit and party, may have to plan a secondary location afterward. We will keep you posted as to whether we can find a spot where a lot of us can go afterward or not. Thanx for your input. Jean |

The numbers have increased a tiny bit, but the end result is the same. 83 people will attend a 30 year reunion, but two would not be able to. 76 people want it casual and seven want semi-formal. 56 want a picnic and 27 want a dinner out. 17 want it in June. 28 want it in July. 21 want it in August. 17 want it in September. We are checking into Hammel Woods' Shorewood Grove as a possible picnic site. We are also shooting for the second or third week in July 2002, if either is available. It is a very pretty park and has some great possibilities. We will keep you posted as things are secured and finalized. |

God created the mule, and told him, "You will be mule, working construction from dusk to dawn, carrying heavy loads on you back. You will eat grass and lack intelligence. You will live for 50 years." The mule answered, "To live like this for 50 years is too much. Please, give me no more that 20." And it was so. Then God created the dog, and told him, "You will hold vigilance over the dwellings of Man, to whom you will be his greatest companion. You will eat his table scraps and live for 25 years." And the dog responded, "Lord, to live 25 years as a dog like that is too much. Please, no more that 10 years." And it was so. God then created the monkey, and told him, "You are monkey. You shall swing from tree to tree, acting like an idiot. You will be funny, and you shall live for 20 years." And the monkey responded, "Lord, to live 20 years as the clown of the world is too much. Please, Lord, give me no more than 10 years." And it was so. Finally, God created Man and told him, "You are Man, the only rational being that walks the earth. You will use you intelligence to have mastery over the creatures of the world. You will dominate the earth and live for 20 years." And the man responded, "Lord to be Man for only 20 years is too little. Please, Lord, give me the 30 years the mule refused, the 15 years the dog refused, and the 10 years the monkey rejected." And it was so. And so God made Man to live as 20 years as a man, then marry and live 30 years like a mule working and carrying heavy loads on his back. Then, he is to have children and live 15 years as a dog, guarding his house and eating the leftovers after they empty the pantry; then in his old age, to live 10 years as a monkey, acting like an idiot to amuse his grandchildren. And it was so |

Since I haven't been able to make it to the supper club or been on line for sometime now, Ter called me yesterday and told me about this site. Thanks Bill for putting in so much time and effort just to keep all of '72 class in touch. This is great! The days race by at full speed for all of us and I can't believe it is almost a year since we've all seen each other. I'm still enjoying the memories of all the smiles and hugs at Tuckaway and at the reunion last year. I'm sure many of you are also. YOUR smiling right now just thinking about it, aren't ya. Bill has donated his time and worked hard to provide us with a way to stay in touch. The best way I can think of to show our appreciation is to do exactly as he as asked... That is for ALL of use this site to stay in touch. I know I've thought of all of you so very many times during this past year. Always wanting to find some time to drop a line just to make sure your all ok, but again, best intentions...... Please everyone who is reading this, just drop a note and fill us all in with what's going on in your life and in your families lives. Afterall it's been a year since we last caught up!! EACH and EVERYTIME that I've bumped into someone from our class, I'm asked if I've heard from any other classmates. People are wanting to stay in touch. We have proven that we all truly care about each other regardless if your old friends who met again last summer or the new "old" friends who met for the first time. I know I was introduced for the first time to so many of you '72ers that I didn't have the opportunity to know in school and I was thrilled to finally meet you. Like most of you, I've had quite a busy year since the reunion. Still put in long hours at the office. Sold our house, spent the winter homeless, finally built a new one and just recently moved into it. Homeless was easier, less boxes looking at me waiting to be unpacked. My daughter Erin graduated college from NIU (YEY, after 4 schools and 5 years :) One down and one to more to go!! My son, John (who is on the 4 1/2 year plan) also at Northern, graduates in August. So Tom and I keeping fingers crossed and look forward to the days we can stop paying tuition payments and eating dog food. Had intentions to return to college and finish this time myself after we got the kids done, but now that the time is near, I realize I'm way to-o-o- tired!! Well there's my update, come on class of 72 - take it on from here. By the way, thank you for the prayers and support you've sent in behalf off my sister Janet. I was overwhelmed with your support and appreciated it so much! She's doing so good but still needs to be kept in prayers. Look forward to hearing from each and everyone of you.
